During these trying times through current situations that is happening around us and throughout the world, we need to stand up and listen to what our President of South Africa had announced on Sunday 15 March 2020 with regards to the Global Pandemic from the COVID-19 (Corona) Virus.

The Italian Club of Cape Town Management Committee have discussed in detail and have decided to take all the precautionary measures that President Cyril Ramaphosa had mentioned in his National Address and to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for all who frequent our facilities.

The following will be implemented as of immediate effect for the next 3 Months at our Club or until further notice.

  • All Italian Club functions have been cancelled (Easter, Mother’s Day, Republican Day, etc)
  • All private functions that have booked to use our venue will be cancelled / postponed and either a refund on venue hire or a postponement to a future date will be given.
  • The Italian Club Restaurant will remain open with Maximum 100 people (including patrons and staff in total) with Hand Sanitizer at entrance – People are to make use of the phone bookings as to avoid disappointment – 021 551 5956.
  • The Deli will remain open to the general public but with Hand Sanitizer at entrance.
  • All venue / function rooms at The Italian Club (New Bar, VIP Room, Hall, Library, Boardroom and Gym) will be cleaned, sanitized and will remain closed to the general public.

The Consulate of Italy in Cape Town wish to inform Italian citizens in the Cape Provinces (Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape) that during the Consulates closing hours the Consulate may be reached, in case of serious and proven emergency, at the following number: + 27 (0) 83 398 3010.
